Central Bucks Mourning Lenape Student Killed Saturday

Steven Kim died after being hit by a car late Saturday night while skateboarding.

Doylestown, PA - A Central Bucks West football player was killed Saturday after being hit by a car while skateboarding.

Steven Kim was skateboarding when he was struck and killed around 11 p.m. in Doylestown Township. He was on the bike path and did not stop when he got to Rt. 611 and Turk Road, the Intelligencer reported.

Police told the Intelligencer they do not expect to file criminal charges against the driver, Patricia Norris, 47, of Philadelphia, who was not injured.

Steven was a student at Lenape Middle School but played for the Central Bucks West freshman football team, school officials said.

School officials said counselors were available at both Central Bucks West and Lenape Middle School.

Hundreds attended a vigil Monday in his honor, Action News reported.

Steven’s father, also named Steven, is a football coach at Lenape Middle School.

A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family pay for medical expenses and funeral costs. By Monday, the page had already exceeded its $8,000 fundraising goal.

“On December 12, the world lost the sweetest, kindest, most loving and greatest son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend. At the age of 14, Steven Hunter Kim traggically lost his life when he was struck by a car,” the fundraising page says.

“We are at a loss for words of how such a tragic event could have happened. We are all still in shock and this doesn’t seem real. He is with the angels, far too soon”
