Five proposed maps are under consideration in the Central Bucks School District.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks School District’s Voting Region Committee is expected to make a recommendation on a new voting region alignment plan during a special meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown Borough. The meeting will be live streamed and an audio recording of the meeting will be posted on the district's website.
Following a 30-minute public comment session, the committee will decide which map it will recommend to the Central Bucks School Board for action.

Due to population growth over the past decade, the district's nine voting regions have become uneven in population and are required by law to be redistricted into more equal regions.
The current map divides the district into nine voting regions, each of which selects one member to the nine-member school board. Other configurations are proposing a three-region map with each region electing three members to the school board. Another option, which is not on the table, is an at-large election.

The committee is currently considering five different maps - three that would retain the current nine-region configuration and two that would create a new three-region map.
The three nine region configurations were submitted by the school district and by Chalfont resident Mara Witsen, who submitted two different proposals for consideration.
The three region plans were proposed by Fair Votes and by resident Jana Rotunno.
