More Than $33K Raised At Central Bucks East's Mini-Thon
Proceeds from the event will benefit Four Diamonds.
Central Bucks East High School held its first ever Mini-THON on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. The event was coordinated by students Sara Donnelly (grade 11), Katelyn Stout (grade 12) and Leah Balderson (grade 11), with the help of a team of faculty advisors.
Similar to and inspired by Penn State’s THON, the event featured more than 400 students and faculty dancing and raising awareness of pediatric cancer. The total raised was $33,001 and will be donated to Four Diamonds, an organization that helps children being treated for pediatric cancer at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, as well as their families, through care, support and research.
“We are so proud of Leah, Sara, Kate and all of the students and staff who participated in our 1st Mini-THON, said Abram Lucabaugh, head principal at Central Bucks East High School. “It is a pleasure to see our entire school community come together for such a great cause.”
