Central Bucks Guidance Counselor Won't Be Charged For Facebook Threat: DA
The controversial Facebook post by Marykate Blankenburg "does not rise to the level of a crime," according to investigators.

A controversial Facebook post by a Central Bucks guidance counselor was “inappropriate” and “ill-advised” but not criminal, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
Marykate Blankenburg, who was placed on administrative leave from her position at Central Bucks High School West after the Dec. 7 incident, will not face charges in connection with the social media post, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.
On Dec. 7, Blankenburg posted the following statement to her Facebook account:

“If my child cannot get to the Eagles game due to protestors, I will personally SHOOT every one of them. You’ve been warned idiots!!”
The post, referring to a ”die in” protest after the Eagles game, was then shared on Twitter by a user. Blankenburg removed it shortly after posting.

However, the Central Bucks School District placed Blakenburg on administrative leave and requested an investigation into the matter. The Montgomery County District Attorney led the investigation because Blankenburg lives in Upper Gwynedd.
“Based upon a thorough review of all the available evidence, the District Attorney concluded that the posting created and published by Marykate Blankenberg does not rise to the level of a crime. The totality of the circumstances reveals that the comment made by Blankenburg was short-sighted and inappropriate, but not made with the requisite criminal intent to terrorize, alarm, harass, annoy, or otherwise cause a serious public inconvenience,” according to a statement by the District Attorney’s office.
Central Bucks School District officials could not be reached Wednesday with regards to Blankenburg’s employment status.
