DOYLESTOWN, PA — After an extensive, national search narrowed down the field to 17 qualified candidates, Central Bucks School District has chosen its new leader.

Abram M. Lucabaugh, who has been an employee of the district for 17 years and Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education for three years, will be named the new Superintendent during a meeting later this month.

“We believe that with Dr. Lucabaugh’s dynamic leadership, the Central Bucks School District will move forward to meet and exceed the challenges ahead to offer our students every possible opportunity," Dana Hunter, the Central Bucks School Board president, said in a statement. "It’s a community that supports education, rallies together in support of our students, and advocates for the programs and services that will continue to give our graduates a solid foundation on which to build a life of their choosing," Lucabaugh said in a statement. "Our schools are why people move here, stay here, and return here."

A community forum will be held at Central Bucks High School South on Aug. 16 to introduce the public to Lucabaugh. The event will be live-streamed online; up to two questions can be submitted by the public here. It will be held in the auditorium from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Lucabaugh will be formally named the new Superintendent during a school board meeting on Aug. 31.
