Central Bucks Hires Private Eye To Investigate Student Residency

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks School Board has engaged a Bucks County private investigator to look into student residency in the district.

Under a one-year contract with Acclaimed LLC, unanimously approved by the school board at its August meeting, Jeff Cochran, of Richboro, will be paid $70 an hour plus mileage and expenses to do the work.

According to the contract, Cochran will provide services "for the purpose of determining whether or not students attending district schools are living within the school district." It also allows the district to request other investigative services.

Under the contract, Cochran will only accept direction regarding investigative services from the superintendent or one of the two assistant superintendents.

And the contract provides no assurances of any minimum or maximum number of hours.

In other business at its August meeting, the school board:

• Approved new and updated courses in mathematics, world languages, computer science, STEM and STEAM, including AP Cybersecurity, Introduction to Python, Calculus 3, and middle school math intervention courses.
• Approved a Branching Minds pilot to support more consistent coordination, documentation, and monitoring of academic and behavioral interventions.
• Approved a 2026-27 memorandum of understanding with Roxy Therapy Dogs, continuing a partnership that brings trained therapy-dog teams into schools to support student engagement, comfort, and well-being.
• Approved the renewal of a service on the district's website that ensures content can be translated into multiple languages.
• Accepted $406,895 in gifts to CB schools during the 2025-26 fiscal year, reflecting the community's commitment to the district's students and schools. The board also accepted a $185,712 bequest from George R. Parry, a CB graduate and former Bucks County resident. The school board will be forming a committee to determine an appropriate use for the bequest connected to Mr. Parry's interests in art and business.
