Central Bucks Increases Pay Rate for Substitute Teachers

The daily rate for substitute teachers has been increased from $90 to $95 Tuesday through Thursday and $100 on Mondays and Fridays.

The Central Bucks School Board has voted to raise the daily rate for substitutes.

According to the district, the raise was needed due to the decline in the availability of substitute teachers and nurses.

The daily rate has been increased from $90 to $95 Tuesday through Thursday and $100 on Mondays and Fridays. The substitute nurse pay rate will increase from $90 to $105 per day.

“Acknowledging that there is a regionally shrinking pool of substitutes available, the board also agreed to the usage of emergency-certified subs through the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, petitioning the state Public School Employees Retirement System to allow retired teachers to sub and district recruitment efforts at colleges and universities,” the district announced on its website.
