A woman has been arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle in connection with a crash that killed a Doylestown man in Buckingham Township last year.
Court records show Veronica Ann Dixon, 26, is facing 14 charges in connection with the Sept. 13 crash that killed Joseph Cotingnola, 67. Dixon was wanted by police in conjunction with the crash; she was eventually located in Easton and arrested Thursday.
In addition to the felony homicide by vehicle charge, Dixon has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, four counts of recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and more.

The crash occurred on Route 313 and Cold Spring Creamery Road. Authorities say Dixon ran a red light at the intersection, crashing into Cotignola’s car and ultimately killing him.
LehighValleyLive.com reports that Dixon had a metabolite of THC in her blood, but police could not prove she was impaired at the time of the crash.

However, it was Dixon’s “gross negligence” that led to the charges, the website reported.
Authorities say Dixon was in a crash two hours before the fatal wreck in which her brakes failed. Police reportedly advised her not to drive the car because it had no brakes, but she did anyway.
Dixon’s bail was set at $100,000 unsecured. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 21.
