A Christmas Carol at Town and Country Players

Town and Country Players Proudly Presents A Christmas Carol the adaptation of Charles Dickens' 1843 festive novella.

To usher in the holiday season, Town and Country Players brings Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol to their stage in an immersive theater experience.

Directed by Janemarie Cloutier, with assistance from Stage Managers Dana Joy Carducci and Jackie Parzanese, A Christmas Carol tells the classic story of curmudgeonly Ebenezer Scrooge (Tim Irvine), a prosperous businessman who favors personal wealth over friends, family, and happiness. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is greeted by the ghosts of Christmas Past (Valerie Sharper), Christmas Present (Tommy Moore), and Christmas Future who all help him face his selfish ways.

While the novella has been adapted countless times, Town and Country will use its unique space to immerse its audiences from start to finish. “From the moment they walk into the Barn, it will feel like Christmas—no matter the date on the calendar or the temperature outside,” says Cloutier. She also hints at many surprises, especially for kids.

The show will be a family event both on and off stage as performers Lee Damon and Alyssa Moore (who play Bob and Mrs. Cratchit) act alongside their sons who are double-cast as Tiny Tim (Ryker Damon and Jacob Moore). “Jacob and Ryker have been buddies for a while, so it's been fun for me and Lee to see them enjoy each other's company during rehearsals while also supporting each other as they share the role,” says Moore. Likewise, the cast is made up of many new, young performers who round out the Cratchitt family (Evelyn Dalton, Jack Dalton, Lucy Hanson, and Griffin Sacco). “Theatre teaches us so much more than performing - I'm constantly blown away by the maturity these kids display both on and off the stage,” Moore notes.

A Christmas Carol is attainable for newcomers to the tale, as well as fans, as Cloutier’s vision for the production delves into the themes of the text. “The lessons about caring for one’s fellow humans resonate and have only grown stronger in recent times,” Cloutier reflects.
