DEA Conducting Major Investigation In Upper Bucks County

The "situation has been stabilized" but the investigation continues in Hilltown Township, a DEA official told Patch.

A significant drug enforcement operation is currently underway in Upper Bucks County, sources with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency confirmed to Patch.

Patrick Trainor, public information officer for the DEA in Philadelphia said an "ongoing investigation" is underway in Hilltown Township. He was not able to provide specifics about the investigation due to its ongoing nature.

Parents of students at the nearby John M. Grasse Elementary School have expressed concerns about the operation, Trainor said. He said the "situation has been stabilized" and there is currently no risk to the students or the nearby residents.

The New Hope Free Press reports numerous agencies responded "en masse" to Diamond Street, where a portion of the road between Hilltown Pike and Mill Road was shut down Monday morning. Nearby residents say they saw SWAT as well as police on the scene.
