DelVal Names Interim Dean of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences
Dr. Chris Tipping will replace Russell Redding, who left his position to become the state Secretary of Agriculture under Tom Wolf.

Delaware Valley College has selected an interim dean of the college’s School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. Dr. Chris Tipping will replace Russell Redding, who left his position at DelVal to become the state Secretary of Agriculture under new governor Tom Wolf.
Tipping, chair of the Department of Plant Science, earned a Master’s degree in systematics from the University of Delaware and a Ph.D. in entomology and nematology from the University of Florida.
“Dr. Tipping is a caring, dedicated educator who always goes above and beyond for this community,” said DelVal President Dr. Joseph Brosnan. “He brings to the deanship a thorough understanding of the science of agriculture, exceptional insight into the student experience, and the skills needed to effectively lead DelVal’s School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences during this interim period.”

Tipping joined DelVal’s faculty in 2005. Last year, he became of chair the Department of Plant Science.
“I am honored to serve as interim dean of DelVal’s School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences,” Tipping said. “DelVal has a rich history; knowledgeable, caring faculty; and students who are passionate about working to address some of the most important issues of our time. I’m honored to be a part of preparing future leaders.”
