Doylestown Fire Co. Honors Firefighter Of The Year
Doylestown Fire Company's firefighter of the year for 2015 is Peter Mills of Doylestown Borough.

Doylestown Fire Company's firefighter of the year for 2015 is Peter Mills of Doylestown Borough. Members of the company voted for Mills to receive the honor, which was presented during an awards banquet earlier this month.
Mills is an 18 year veteran of the fire company, having joined as a junior firefighter. He is currently the recording secretary, and has also served as assistant recording secretary, assistant communications officer and an engineer.

- The rookie of the year is Steve Lee, who joined the company in January of 2105. Lee completed the 180+ hours of Firefighter 1 training at the Bucks County Fire School, graduating first in his class.
- Steve Walther, the chairman of the awards committee for 33 years, was honored with a longevity award for his diligent work in the position, as he has announced he is stepping down after this year.
- Dan Kline received the Chief’s award from Chief Sam Cramer, Jr., for his tireless work on the box maps project,
- Tony Montemurro was named the President’s Award winner by president Jay Fetterolf for his taking over the treasurer’s position mid-year and doing a great job.
- Service pins were awarded to the following members for years of service: 5 years: Nick Popchuk Jr; 10 years: Paul Cain, Sara Grogan, Marshall Sher, and Rebecca Loux-Clark; 15 years: Jamie Haddon; 20 years: new life members Dan Kline and Jerry Bredow; 25 years: Paul Kreuter, Ed Boshell and Chris Morris; 30 years: James D. Shepard; 35 years: Ed Truman and Mike Wood; 40 years Ollie Groman Jr., John Croman and Gian Luiso; 45 years: Bill Price; 50 years: Bill Funk; 55 Years: Jack Connard; 65 years: Nick Chubb Jr.
- Position awards were given to B. J. Loughnane for serving as a trustee from 2010-2015 and Tony Montemurro as Asst. Treasurer from 2014-2015.
- Matt Grogan was recognized for his service as Lieutenant from 2014-2015, and Ed Loux as Chief Engineer since 2008 and Communications Officer since 2009.
- Attendance awards were given based on a total of 705 point, which included 605 incidents, 40 drills and 60 non-incident activities.
- Fire police officer Sam Cesare was the top responder for 2015, with 58.2% of the points. Bill Price was second with 49.5%, Steve Lee with 49%, Dan Kline with 46.2% and Craig Lager with 41.7%.
