Doylestown Hospital Ranks Among Best In U.S. News Rankings

The ranking places Doylestown Hospital 8th in the Philadelphia metro area and 17th in Pennsylvania.

DOYLESTOWN, PA – Doylestown Hospital has again been named among the best hospitals in the region and Pennsylvania in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings.

In addition, DH Physicians Ambulatory Services has been selected among the nation’s best ambulatory service centers for urology.

The ranking placed Doylestown Hospital 8th in the Philadelphia Metro Area and 17th in Pennsylvania.

Doylestown Hospital also achieved “High Performing” status for colon cancer surgery, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip replacement, knee replacement, leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, stroke, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement in recognition of care that was significantly better than the national average, as measured by factors such as patient outcomes.

High Performing recognition is the highest distinction earned by U.S. News’ evaluation system.

DH Physicians Ambulatory Services was awarded High Performing status in urology outpatient services. In this debut evaluation, DH Physicians was among just 53 centers across the nation designated as High-Performing among the 694 centers that were evaluated.

U.S. News used three years of Medicare data to evaluate surgical centers using criteria that includes how successfully complications were avoided, ER visits, unplanned hospitalizations and other undesirable outcomes.

“The continued recognition of Doylestown Hospital among the nation’s best is directly correlated to the quality of care we provide to our patients,” said Doylestown Health President and CEO Jim Brexler. “This level of success is only achieved through a clear focus on the experience of each and every patient who passes through our doors.”
