Doylestown Man Charged With Raping Tanning Salon Employee at Knifepoint

Police say Marshall Gibson sexually assaulted an employee of a North Wales tanning salon at knifepoint last month.

An 18-year-old Doylestown man is accused of raping an employee of a Montgomery Township tanning salon last month.

Marshall Gibson has been charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated assault and related charges stemming from the Feb. 25 incident, the Montgomery County District Attorney announced Friday.

According to Montgomery Township Police, that evening, Gibson came into the North Wales Road tanning salon asking to use the bathroom. Shortly after, he and a 25-year-old employee entered a room and Gibson began kissing the woman, who told him repeatedly to stop, police said.

Gibson began touching the woman’s breasts and genitals, then pulled a knife out and demanded the woman perform a sex act on him, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Fearing for her safety, the victim told police she complied. The victim immediately called 911 once Gibson left and was transported to Abington Hospital for treatment, the affidavit said.
