A GoFundMe page has been created by Larry Peseski, of Solebury Township, who described his friend as having a gentle, calm demeanor in addition to being a skilled carpenter and painter.

"Over the years I watched as his skills developed and his contractor business became more and more successful," Peseski wrote. "I was always mindful that he started his life in the United States mostly alone having left his parents and siblings and grand parents in Mexico. He had little to no money. He enrolled himself in the local high school and attended as much as he could until he ran out of money. And so he would work. He never asked me for money. He just asked for work. He had strong character and pride. So he made it on his own steam."

His death occurred just days before his wife was due to give birth to their first baby, a boy, the fundraiser said.

All funds raised will be given to Herrera-Salmoran's wife to help pay for funeral arrangements, Peseski said.
