Doylestown Native Dies At 33, Family Seeks Help For Services
The family of a 33-year-old Doylestown native who died Friday from an accidental overdose has launched a fundraiser for burial expenses.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The family of a 33-year-old Doylestown native who died Friday from an accidental overdose has launched a fundraiser for burial expenses.
Robert Meier, who lived for the last year in Michigan after joining the carnival, began to struggle when the season ended, his mother wrote on a GoFundMe campaign page. "We are devastated and heartbroken. He had a great sense of humor," she wrote.
Meier had two young children.

The family is trying to raise $5,000 to help pay for services. "The reason the cost is so high is because we have to have him transported from Michigan to Pennsylvania and that adds a lot to the total cost," she said.
Services are planned for Dec. 23.

Born May 18, 1984, in Doylestown, he was the son of Lois J. (Johnson) Fite, and step son of Jamey R. Fite, of Grand Marais, MI. He was the son of the late Robert W. Meier. Additional survivors include two children, Gavin Meier, age 8, and Nicole Meier, age 3; paternal grandmother, Monika Meier, FL, and maternal grandfather, Ray Johnson, Hilltown; sister, Leeann Hessler, PA, step brother, Ryan Fite, MI; aunts and uncles, Monika and Andy Fuller, CA, Mike and Kim, GA, and Linda and Rich Chiu, CA, also numerous cousins.
There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday December 23rd 2017, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1530 Augsburg Drive, Hilltown, PA 18927, with his Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Interment is private.
