Doylestown Winterfest Kicks Off This Weekend

A town-wide Winterfest event kicks off in Doylestown this weekend. The event, hosted by Discover Doylestown, will feature artwork by local students, plus a scavenger hunt and other fun activities.

As part of the event, students from Central Bucks High School East, Central Bucks High School South and Central Bucks High School West will brighten up town by painting participating storefronts throughout downtown Doylestown.

Here are some Winterfest events happening this weekend, according to Discover Doylestown:

• On Sunday, Jan. 15 from 10:30 am - 12 noon, the County Theater will host a Meet & Greet Art show, where all the student art designs will be displayed on the big screen. Refreshments will be available, and this event is free and open to the public.
• On Sunday, Jan. 15 at 12 noon, stop by Doylestown's first life-size selfie snow globe. Step into the ultimate winter wonderland, and have your photo taken inside the giant snow globe that will be station in the Starbuck's parking lot at State and Main.
• On Sunday, Jan. 15 from 1-4 pm, Doylestown will host horse and carriage rides around the downtown area, to take a fun winter festive ride to see many of the painted windows. The pick up/drop off point will be in front of The County Theater, and rides will last approximately 15 minutes. All rides are free, but tips are appreciated. Tips collected will be donated to CB Cares Educational Foundation.

Next month, Winterfest will feature a scavenger hunt around Doylestown as a tribute to Dominic Liples, a local 8-year-old who died in December after a nine-month battle with a brain tumor. The hunt, to be held Feb. 9, will honor Dominic by having participants search for some of his favorite things hidden in the painted windows around town.

"You'll find some of Dominic's favorite things, like minions, gummy bears, sharks, the Eagles, and more! Kids of all ages are invited to pickup their scavenger hunt cards at Monkeys Uncle, ArtMuse, or the Discover Doylestown office to find out what icons to look for and where," Discover Doylestown said in an event announcement.
