Fat Mezz is a rock band from South Jersey that got its start in 2020. The band began playing shows in the Philadelphia area and down the Jersey shore, primarily in Wildwood, New Jersey. After several years of playing cover shows full-time, the group released its first original tracks in mid-2023, a two-song EP titled, "Fat Mezz Loves Cooter."

The band features Billy Thoden and Kurt Foster on lead and rhythm guitar, Dom Levy on bass and Corey Chodes on drums. All four members are vocalists and trade lead, background and harmonic vocals. The musicians grew up across South Jersey and, after playing together on and off through the years under several names, eventually formed Fat Mezz.

The name Fat Mezz is a tribute to Milton "Mezz" Mezzrow, a jazz clarinetist and saxophonist, as well as a civil rights advocate. Fat Mezz's sound is described as drawing from blues, rock, jam, psychedelia, and soul. The band's original music aims to blend vintage sounds with newer influences.

Hay Sugar is a rock band founded by married musical duo Madison Flego and Matt Leech. The couple has roots in Asheville, North Carolina, and currently performs in the Philadelphia region. Their music blends rock, blues and folk and draws from 12 years of life and musical experiences together.

The name Hay Sugar was coined during a road trip to Mississippi in 2006. Their music is described as having a rootsy rock sound influenced by acts including the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Widespread Panic and Taj Mahal. Many of their songs are story-driven and focus on resilience, being present and family histories. Their track, "Patti in Spain," was written about Madison's grandfather, who tracked down a missing girl in Spain in the 1960s.
