DUI Charges Follow Traffic Stops, Accident In Plumstead Township

Early February traffic stops in the township led to DUI charges for three drivers, authorities reported.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported three separate instances resulting in Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charges during the first week of February. The charges followed traffic stops and an accident investigation.

On Feb. 4 at 8:42 p.m., police stopped a car at the intersection of Ferry and Gordon roads. A 49-year-old man from East Greenville was charged with Driving Under the Influence as a result of the stop.

The following day, Feb. 5, at 11:07 p.m., police stopped a car at the intersection of Swamp and Sawmill roads. Following the stop, a 61-year-old woman was charged with Driving Under the Influence.

Later in the week, on Feb. 9 just after 7 p.m., police responded to a traffic accident in the 4900 block of Stump Road. After an investigation, police charged a 20-year-old man with Driving Under the Influence.

The Plumstead Township Police Department has not released further details regarding the ongoing legal proceedings for these cases. The individuals charged will proceed through the judicial system, where their cases will be heard.
