DUI-Related Charges Dropped In Double Fatal Rt. 202 Crash: Report

DUI charges have been dropped in connection with a double fatal accident on Rt. 202 that killed a Solebury couple in December.

DUI-related charges have been dropped in connection with a double fatal accident on Rt. 202 that killed a Solebury couple in December, according to a report by the Intelligencer.

Sean Michael Adee, 33, is still facing numerous charges in connection with the Dec.8 accident, however due to lack of evidence, the DUI-related charges have been dropped, the report said.

The head-on wreck killed Solebury residents Ian McNeill, 67, and Jane McNeill, 66.

Adee appeared in court Thursday, waiving his preliminary hearing on charges of homicide by vehicle, reckless driving and driving while texting.

According to the Intelligencer's report, eyewitnesses said Adee was "all over the road" and a paramedic on the scene said he seemed sluggish and under the influence of an intoxicant. However, while Adee tested positive for opiates in a urine sample, but police were unable to obtain a blood sample due to the extent of his injuries, the report explained.

According to information provided by police around the time of the crash, Adee's Nissan Xterra was headed south on Route 202 when it traveled across both lanes, hitting the couple's Volvo station wagon head-on and killing them as they headed north.

The McNeills were pronounced dead at the scene by the Bucks County Coroner’s Office. The accident happened about one mile south of Route 32.

Adee was extricated from his car and transported to St. Mary Medical Center for treatment immediately following the crash.
