Greater Jamison Business Association to Host Janet Mintzer President & CEO of Pearl S. Buck International

The Greater Jamison Business Association will hold its monthly breakfast meeting on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. at The Manor at York Town, 2010 York Road, Jamison, Pa 18929. Janet Mintzer, President and CEO of Pearl S. Buck International (PBI) will be the guest speaker.
Mintzer has a Master of Social Work degree from Temple University and has worked for many profit and nonprofit organizations. She has received the Symetra Financial Community Champion Award in 2008, the March of Dimes Women of Business Achievement Award in 2006 and the Penn Ridge Chamber of Commerce President's Award in 2006. Mintzer has been with Pearl S. Buck International since 2001.
Located in Perkasie and founded by Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning author Pearl S. Buck, PBI is a nonprofit organization with a three part mission:

- Welcome House—founded in 1949 as the first inter-racial adoption agency in the U.S.
- Opportunity House—founded in 1964 as The Pearl S. Buck Foundation to address issues of poverty and discrimination faced by children in Asia.
- Pearl S. Buck House—established after Buck’s death in 1973, which became the headquarters of Pearl S. Buck International.
Mintzer will discuss the legacy of Buck and how Pearl S. Buck International is working to continue Buck’s mission of improving the quality of life of children and promoting understanding and humanitarianism throughout the world. To learn more about Pearl S. Buck International, go to www.psbi.org.
