Firefighters Battle Blaze At Doylestown Borough Home

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Fire heavily damaged a single-family home early Sunday morning on Chapman Avenue in Doylestown Borough.

At 5:07 a.m., Central Bucks Regional Police reported a working fire and called for emergency response, according to the Doylestown Fire Company No. 1.

According to the fire company, Doylestown No. 1 Battalion Chief Lori Westover arrived on the scene to find a two-story, single-family home on fire with fire venting from the roof.

Due to fire conditions, crews evacuated from the structure and Doylestown Tower 79's master stream was used to “surround and drown” the fire, fire officials said.

Crews were on the scene for about three hours knocking down the fire and then conducting mop-up operations, fire officials said.

According to the Doylestown Fire Company, the homeowner was not at home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Doylestown Borough and Bucks County Fire Marshals.
