Firefighters Battle Buckingham Fire In Heavy Snow And Sleet Storm

Volunteers spent more than two hours on Sunday battling the elements and an attached garage fire on East Brandon Way.

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters from five companies battled through snow and sleet to knock down an attached garage fire and mitigate damage to a house Sunday afternoon.

Just after 2 p.m., volunteers from Midway Volunteer Fire Co., Lingohocken, Doylestown No. 1, New Hope Eagle, and Point Pleasant responded to the report of a dwelling fire in the 3600 block of East Brandon Way.

Arriving crews found a fully involved attached garage with extension into the dwelling. The residents had already evacuated by the time crews arrived.

Midway’s Engine 5 made a blitz attack on a fully involved attached garage. Midway’s Ladder 5 followed and established a hydrant water supply.

Using hand lines, the firefighters established an interior attack and were able to halt the progression of fire to the remainder of the home.

The firefighters worked for more than two hours and through difficult snow and ice conditions were able to extinguish the fire and mitigate damage to the house. No injuries were reported.

Central Bucks EMS also responded to handle any medical needs while the Midway Fire Police handled traffic control. Warwick Township Fire Co. covered Station 5 while they were at the Buckingham fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
