Food Historian To Whip Up Presidential Favorites In Doylestown
Look for her inside the Log House on the grounds of the Mercer Museum in Doylestown Borough on Saturday.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — In celebration of George Washington's birthday and the nation's 250th birthday, food historian Susan Plaisted will be whipping up a special program featuring some of Washington's favorite treats.
The drop-in family program — "A Taste of Cacao - The Mount Vernon Way" — takes place inside the Mercer Museum's Log House on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The log house is located on the grounds of the museum in Doylestown.
Plaisted will be preparing cacao tea and hot chocolate - both favorites of America's first president - and will be sharing how these sweet treats were historically made.

Plaisted is the owner of Heart to Hearth Cookery, a food history business in Bucks County. She offers programs, presentations and demonstrations of 17th century through 19th century Colonial American and European cooking methods and practices, and receipts (recipes) as well as pre-European contact and post-European contact Native American Foodways
