Heritage Conservancy’s Concerts in the Garden Lineup Announced!

With the return of spring and warm weather comes the return of Heritage Conservancy’s popular “Concerts in the Garden” outdoor summer concert series at historic Aldie Mansion in Doylestown, PA. Now entering its fifth season, Concerts in the Garden will be held at a new time—6:00 PM to 8:00 PM—on the fourth Tuesday of every month from May through September. Heritage Conservancy, an accredited not-for-profit land conservation organization dedicated to preserving and protecting our natural and historic heritage, welcomes community members of all ages to come out and enjoy musical acts on the back lawn of Aldie Mansion for free.

Just as William and Martha Mercer, the original owners of Aldie Mansion, held outdoor recitals on the lawn over 85 years ago, Heritage Conservancy continues that tradition by hosting Concerts in the Garden. While the historic mansion serves as a backdrop, musical performances showcase the talent that we have right here in our community.

Each concert will consist of one twenty-minute opener and two forty-minute main acts as diverse as they are talented. Area singer-songwriter John Beacher has put together another great lineup for our listening pleasure. This year’s Concerts in the Garden will feature:

As an added bonus this year, Heritage Conservancy is offering free 30-minute guided tours of historic Aldie Mansion each month at 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM before the concerts start. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.

The concerts and guided tours are all part of Heritage Conservancy’s efforts to open Aldie Mansion’s doors up for the community.

“Saving a beautiful building or piece of land for future generations is important, but why save something unless you share it with people? We want our community to experience Aldie Mansion to understand why we feel protecting it is so important,” said Jeff Marshall, President of Heritage Conservancy. “Concerts in the Garden is one way Heritage Conservancy has been able to share our home with hundreds of people who might not otherwise experience the benefits of historic preservation.”

The popularity of this summer event has continued to grow. Last summer, over 1,000 community members attended a concert. Heritage Conservancy hopes to top that this year. Concerts are held rain or shine; in the case of inclement weather, the concert is brought indoors to Aldie Mansion’s ballroom, which provides for excellent acoustics.
