Hundreds Hit The Streets In Bucks Co. To Benefit Cancer Patients
"Be Kind 5K" draws upwards of 60o participants, all to benefit the Kin Wellness and Support Center in Buckingham.

BUCKINGHAM, PA — A record turn out of runners hit the streets in Buckingham on Saturday to benefit the nonprofit Kin Wellness and Support Center.
Upwards of 600 people laced up their sneakers for the race, which wound its way through Holicong Park and out onto Holicong and Mountain roads as an April wind blew through the area. Leading the way on a pace bicycle was race ambassador and cancer survivor Chris Baccash.
The first to cross the finish line was Pat Haneman, at 17:55. Kellie Shimer, the first female finisher, clocked in a few minutes later at 19:51.

Annabella Broadbent was the first age group female, at 22:19, and Robert Bland, the first age group male, finished at 22:10.
This was the fourth year for the “Be Kind” Family Fun Run and 5K Race, which has been building momentum over the past few years as part of the Bucks 5K Race Series.
“I’m thrilled,” said Keith Fenimore, who operates Kin with his wife, Kristina. “It’s supposed to grow year over year and it’s been doing pretty well, but this has been the biggest year. Kin is now five years old and it has more of a presence in the community and I think that showed today. Everyone is in good spirits. It’s exhilarating to say the least.”

He added, “It’s hard to express what it means to look out and see so many people. And what a lot of people may not realize is that a good majority of the people who are running today are our patients and guests,” said Fenimore. “They are either going through active cancer treatment or have in the past. They are either running for themselves, for somebody or in memory of someone. That’s what makes this race special.”
Proceeds will benefit the Kin Wellness and Support Center, which provides free services and support to cancer patients and their caregivers.
The event was sponsored by Jarrett Vaughan Builders, The Thompson Organization, Thompson Detail Center, Fox Chase Buckingham, Lakeside Home Improvement, Health Insurance Personalized (HIP), Archetype Advisors, UPS Buckingham, TFW Doylestown, Up In The Air Balloons, DRS Imaging and Print, Piedmont Environmental, Borough Bagels, Bessie Mathew Foundation, Café with Soul, LaPlaca Insurance, Simply Fresh by McCaffrey’s Market, Central Bucks EMS, Verdant Landscapes LLC, and Anchor Facility Services.
