Central Bucks School District officials recently provided an update on some improvements underway at Unami Middle School.

The school, which "underwent a remarkable round of additions" last summer is getting some additional improvements before the start of the upcoming school year, CBSD explains on its website.

Some elements to be added this summer include an overhaul in the following areas of the school: the family and consumer sciences room, textile lab, staff and student bathrooms, main lobby and corridor and HVAC equipment.

Unami Middle School, first dedicated in 1965, is located in Chalfont. According to the district, it is named after a Native American tribe called the Unami clan.

More than 1,000 students from Chalfont, Warrington and New Britain attend the school, which underwent a multi-million dollar expansion in 1997.
