Inmate's Death Under Investigation By Bucks County Authorities

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Authorities in Bucks County are investigating the death of an inmate at the Bucks County Correctional Facility earlier this week.

The inmate, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead Monday at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He was transported from the county jail on Sunday following a medical incident.

Bucks County Detectives and the Department of Corrections Investigations Unit are investigating the man’s death, county officials said.

This is the third reported death this year at the correctional facility.

In January, Octavius Davis, 35, of Croydon, was found in the Doylestown facility unresponsive. He died as a result of a drug overdose, the coroner reported.

In March, a 48-year-old female inmate was taken to Doylestown Health where she died of a perforated peptic ulcer. The Philadelphia resident had been incarcerated in February on a retail theft charge.
