DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Doylestown Township Police Department reported 852 incidents during April and issued 114 traffic citations, 150 traffic warnings, and investigated 37 traffic accidents.
Some of the notable calls during the month include the arrest of a 66-year-old woman for an assault on a healthcare employee, three arrests for DUI, and the seizure of cocaine and marijuana from patients at Doylestown Hospital.

Assault
- On April 9, police arrested a 66-year-old woman for assault on a health-care employee following an incident at Doylestown Hospital.
- On April 14, police began investigating harassment and threats received at a business in the Bailiwick Complex.
- On April 20, a harassment investigation was conducted for a resident on Woodbury Path.
- On April 27, police investigated an assault at the Mercer Square Shopping Center. The victim knew the assailant and did not wish to pursue criminal charges.
- On April 30, police opened an investigation into an assault that occurred at the Central Bucks Family YMCA.
Criminal Mischief

- On April 16, a vehicle was damaged while driving on Swamp Road near Christopher Day Drive when a baseball-sized object struck the windshield.
- On April 19, police investigated a report that a residence on Limekiln Road had been “egged”. The juvenile responsible was handled informally.
- On April 29, a vehicle was damaged at Doylestown Hospital by an object thrown by an individual. Officers filed criminal charges against a 35-year-old man.
Driving Under the Influence
- On April 4, a 46-year-old woman was arrested for DUI on Sandy Knoll Drive after a collision with a parked vehicle.
- On April 4, a 32-year-old man was arrested for DUI on Almshouse Road near Easton Road following a traffic stop.
- On April 24, a 66-year-old man was arrested for DUI on Hemlock Drive after police were alerted to the possible DUI by a concerned citizen.
Fraud
- The department took eight fraud reports during April. Police continue to ask residents to speak with their family members about various scam tactics. In April, the department saw a resurgence of the Sheriff phone call scam. Real law enforcement agencies will never ask to clear an arrest warrant with an electronic payment. Narcotics
- On April 1 and again on April 7, police were called to Doylestown Hospital to take possession of marijuana and suspected cocaine that had been seized from different patients.
- On April 2, a traffic stop for speeding on the Route 611 Bypass led to the seizure of marijuana. A 22-year-old woman was cited.
Robbery
- On April 21, police arrested a 62-year-old man after he robbed a known acquaintance at their home in the Olde Colonial neighborhood.
Theft
- On April 7, police began investigating a retail theft at the Barnes & Noble bookstore.
- On April 8, police responded to the Central Bucks Family YMCA to investigate a theft of cash from a secured locker.
- On April 10, police responded to the Barnes & Noble bookstore and investigated a retail theft in progress.
- On April 12, police investigated the theft of a mislaid wallet at Central Park and the subsequent unauthorized use of stolen credit cards. A 44-year-old woman was identified and charged.
- On April 28, the theft of several temporary political support signs was reported.
