Iron Hill Brewery Plans First Bucks Co. Location

Bucks County's beer scene continues to get better and better.

NEWTOWN, PA — Another craft brewery has set its sights on Bucks County. Iron Hill Brewery is seeking to open an outpost in Newtown.

The Newtown Township Planning Commission will be reviewing Iron Hill's application for a location at 2920 S. Eagle Road during a meeting Tuesday. The site will be in a building that's currently under construction in the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, Township Manager Micah Lewis said.

Iron Hill operates brewpubs that serve craft beers and food at more than a dozen locations across the region. Nearby brewpubs are situated in North Wales, Phoenixville, Ardmore, Huntington Valley, Philadelphia and more. Click here to view the full list of locations.

In addition to their own craft beers, the menu features pub fare, such as burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and a selection of "brewhouse entrees." You can see the full menu here.

If approved, Iron Hill will join several new additions to the Bucks County beer scene.

In Jamison,Warwick Farm Brewing is currently finishing up land developments to build a taproom to open in 2019. The taproom and brewery will be located on a farm off Almshouse Road. Specific details on an opening date have not yet been released.

Newtown Brewing Company expects to open this summer in the Newtown Business Commons.

Odd Logic Brewing Co., which represented at the Washington Crossing Brewfest in the fall, announced in October it was working to prepare a location on Route 13, where it will brew small batch beers and have food trucks serve food.

Also, the Trolley Barn Public Market is under construction in Quakertown. Once complete, it will be a 19,000-square-foot market across the tracks from the old train station. It will feature up to a dozen vendors, including a pub, café and the beer garden.
