WARRINGTON, PA — To kick off the Labor Day holiday weekend, more than two dozen Bucks County police officers from nine departments will be watching for impaired drivers at a DUI checkpoint on Route 611 in Warrington Township.

"This Labor Day weekend our Bucks County police will be on the road protecting us," said Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub. "From Friday, Sept. 2 at 10 p.m to Saturday, Sept. 3 at 3 a.m. more than 24 police officers from nine different Bucks County police departments will be working a DUI checkpoint on Route 611 in Warrington Township.

"So if you plan on drinking or doing drugs, don’t drive," said Weintraub. "If you're hosting a party, take care of your guests. Make sure they have a safe way of getting home. If your friend is about to drive impaired, take their keys and get them home safely. Don't worry about offending them. They will thank you later," said the DA.

"If you see an impaired driver on the road, call 9-1-1. Remember these safety tips as you prepare for the holiday weekend and spread this simple message," said Weintraub. "If you drive hammered, you will get nailed!”
