The Greatest Championship Game in Bux-Mont History

DOYLESTOWN (November 2016) - The Lenape Valley Indians 155 LB weight class team won the Bux-Mont Championship game against long-time rival, Marsh Creek, on October 29, 2016 at Marsh Creek’s home field. One former championship-winning Lenape Valley coach dubbed the game, “The Greatest Championship Game in Bux-Mont History."
The game opened with LV155 stopping Marsh Creek on their opening drive, and then proceeding to march down the field and score on a quarterback bootleg followed by a two point kick. LV155 8 - Marsh Creek 0. After LV155 kicked off to Marsh Creek, their star runner got around the outside and scored from 70 yards out but their kick was no good, making the game LV155 8 - Marsh Creek 6. Marsh Creek eventually got the ball back, but LV155 intercepted it on their 40 yard line and ran it all the way back for a touchdown followed by another two point kick: LV155 16 - Marsh Creek 6. LV155 kicked deep and Marsh Creek’s star runner ran the ball for an 80-yard touchdown. This time, their kick was good, making the score LV155 16 - Marsh Creek 14.
Tensions remained high on both sidelines as hundreds of fans cheered on each team. LV155 then drove the ball down to the 30 yard line and with 4th and 8 to go, the quarterback threw the ball to LV’s flanker over the middle who immediately got surrounded by two Marsh Creek defenders, but, before the whistle blew, LV155’s center grabbed the ball and ran it in for a touchdown. The two point kick was good leaving the game at LV155 24 - Marsh Creek 14 at halftime.
