Steve Santarsiero Wins PA Senate 10th District Race

In the race for PA Senate 10th District, Democrat Steve Santarsiero prevailed over Republican Marguerite Quinn.

In the race for PA Senate 10th District, Democrat Steve Santarsiero has defeated Republican Marguerite Quinn. The two were battling for the seat after Chuck McIlhinney, the current state senator for the 10th District, announced he was not running for re-election.

According to unofficial results that have not yet been certified by the county, Santarsiero received 67,221 votes to Quinn's 60,856 votes.

Santarsiero, a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, is a lawyer who was inspired to become a teacher after witnessing the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He ran against Brian Fitzpatrick in a bid for congress in 2016. He was later appointed the first Chief Deputy Attorney General for Environmental Protection in Pennsylvania, a post he left in January 2018 to run for the state Senate.

Quinn served as State Representative for the 143rd District since 2007. The Furlong, Buckingham Township resident worked in the real estate industry before running for office.

The 10th District includes Bedminster, Buckingham, Doylestown, East Rockhill, Falls, Haycock, Hilltown, Lower Makefield, New Britain, Newtown, Plumstead, Solebury, Upper Makefield and West Rockhill township, as well as Chalfont, Doylestown, Dublin, Morrisville, New Britain, New Hope, Newtown, Perkasie, Sellersville, Silverdale, Telford (Bucks County Portion), Tullytown and Yardley boroughs.
