Median Barriers to Be Installed on Routes 202 and 611

Cable median barriers will be installed on Route 202 between Route 611 and State Street, as well as Route 611 between Easton Road and Ferry Road.

PennDOT is beginning work to install median barriers on two Doylestown roads.

Cable median barriers will be installed on Route 202 between Route 611 and State Street, as well as Route 611 between Easton and Ferry roads.

“The installation of approximately 22 miles of cable median barriers along these three limited access highways will significantly reduce the potential for crossover crashes from occurring,” PennDOT District Executive Lester C. Toaso said.

The project is scheduled to finish in July 2015. The $1.5 million effort by PennDOT also includes the installation of barriers on Route 1 in Chester County.

During construction, there will be periodic lane restrictions and shoulder closures, but most of the work will be confined to the medians and not affect motorists.

Morgan Rail Inc. of Reading, Pa., is the general contractor for the $1.5 million project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
