Missing Teen Found 2 Days After Crashing Car Off Rt. 202: Police

After the crash, the teen wandered about a mile. He was found unconscious two days later on Rt. 202, Warrington police said.

A Montgomery County teen who was reported missing was found unconscious two days later by police in Warrington, Bucks County after crashing his car down a ravine in a wooded area along the Route 202 Parkway, authorities said.

Christopher Craven, 17, was reported missing after he didn't return home from work at Parkhurst Dining Services at Delaware Valley University on Sunday. He was last seen at 9:30 p.m. that night.

Police in Upper Gwynedd, where Craven lives, put out a public notice for the teen. His photo was circulated, and authorities were investigating tips.

Two days after he was reported missing, Warrington Police received a call reporting an unconscious person on Rt. 202 in the area of County Line Road, police chief Daniel Friel said. The person, later identified as Craven, was seen laying in the grass along the side of the road around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The responding officer located the person on the Montgomery County side of the Route 202 Parkway grass trail area. Authorities determined it was Craven. "All he could tell police was that he hit a tree and didn't know anything else. He was disoriented," said Friel.

There was no trace of his car, which was reported to be a gray Audi. The next morning, officers combed the Rt. 202 Parkway on foot in search of the teen's car.

"Officer Sadowski, who was knows the area well, was on foot and located the car about 10 feet down a ravine in a wooded area along the Route 202 Parkway," Friel said.

The car was found about a mile north from where the teen was located, according to authorities. The car was not visible from the street, and was on the opposite side of the road from the walking trail, according to Friel.

Authorities believe Craven got out of his car and wandered through a thick wooded area, ending up a mile away from the crash site before he was eventually located.

Action News reported Craven was rushed to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is expected to make a full recovery.

The accident investigation is being handled by Warrington Police. "We are all thankful that there was a good ending to this one," Friel said.
