DUBLIN BOROUGH, PA — A new Latin American casual restaurant is opening its doors today in the Dublin Village Shopping Center at 161 North Main Street.

"The Latin Pot" is the third restaurant for the Egoavil family, which has built a reputation in Central Bucks County for its Mexican-Peruvian cuisine. The family also operates El Tule on North Main Street in Lambertville, N.J., and Quinoa at 54 East State Street in Doylestown Borough.

"We're super excited about the Latin Pot," said Jack Egoavil speaking on behalf of the family. "Dublin is up and coming. There's a lot of new development and a lot of new businesses moving in. It's an exciting time to be in Dublin and we're looking forward to welcoming new customers and meeting new people."

Some of the menu selections include tacos, Venezuelan and Colombian arepas, Argentinian and Peruvian empanadas, desserts, and more.

The dishes are made from authentic family recipes that have been passed down through the generations and are still made in much the same way, according to Jack.

"We have learned so much through the years in terms of upscaling the food, while still giving you that taste like you're coming to your best friend's mom for lunch or dinner," said Jack.

"We're so fortunate to be able to bring a little bit of our culture to the area and have an impact on the community in a good way," he said.

The 30- to 40-seat eatery, which will be operated by Mechelle Egoavil and her husband, Said Anguiano, is located a few doors down from the Pennsylvania Driver's License Center in the former location of a laundromat and tanning salon.

The space has undergone a complete renovation in preparation for the opening, according to Jack.

The Latin Pot will initially be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Fausto and Carmen Egoavil opened the family's first restaurant - El Tule - 14 years ago in the City of Lambertville. The restaurant is now run by their son, Jack.

While his dad has since passed away, Jack said his mother, Carmen, will still stop by occasionally to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Seven years ago, the family opened its second restaurant - Quinoa on North Easton Road. It later relocated to its present location on East State Street in Doylestown Borough. Quinoa is managed by Jack's sister, Silvia.
