New Jersey Woman Charged In Theft Of Cosmetics In Warrington

Police said the woman attempted to steal more than $1,200 worth of cosmetics from the Target store.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A New Jersey woman faces felony theft charges for stealing cosmetics from the Target store in Warrington.

Police have charged Carolina Almachi-Caiza, 31, of Newark, New Jersey, with felony retail theft, receiving stolen property and possessing instruments of crime.

Police responded to the store on August 15 for a theft in progress. When police arrived, they were told by the store's loss prevention officer that a woman, later identified as Almachi-Caiza, selected a large number of items in the cosmetics department and then proceeded to another section of the store where she concealed the merchandise on her body.

Police were told that the woman then proceeded past the registers without paying for the merchandise and was stopped in the vestibule of the store. The woman then proceeded to discard some of the concealed merchandise while proceeding into the parking lot, police were told.

Police located Almachi-Caiza in the area of Chipotle where they found her discarding more merchandise. In total, she had taken about $1,283.16 worth of merchandise.

Almachi-Caiza was placed under arrest and transported to the station where she was processed. She was arraigned by Judge Wertman who set bail at $50,000 or 10 percent cash. Almachi-Caiza was unable to post bail and was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
