New Warrington Walmart Opens Wednesday

The 148,000-square-foot store will be located in Warrington. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

A new Walmart Supercenter will open Wednesday, Jan. 27 in Warrington.

The 148,000-square-foot store will be located at 299 Valley Gate Drive. A grand opening event is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

In addition to merchandise and groceries, there will be a full pharmacy and a store pickup service for online shoppers, according to information from Walmart. The new store will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The store will employ up to 300 full- and part-time associates. It is the first Walmart Supercenter in the Warrington area to provide a drive-through pharmacy window, the company said.

“We are proud to be a part of the Warrington community and to serve our residents with fast, friendly and convenient service,” said store manager Philip Blazejewski. “We are starting a new year with a new store and we look forward to opening and providing our area residents with our everyday low prices.”

The opening of the new local Walmart comes amid an announcement earlier this month that company will be closing 269 stores. None of the locations slated for closure are in Pennsylvania.
