Doylestown Business Owner Charged With Deceptive Practices

Police say he entered into a contract to replace windows at a borough business and never did the work.

DOYLETOWN BOROUGH, PA — The owner of a Doylestown construction company has been charged by police with deceptive business practices.

Michael Phillip Martelli, 31, of Doylestown, was arrested Feb. 14 by the Central Bucks Regional Police Department.

Police said Martelli, the owner of Martelli’s Construction Company, entered into a contract with the owner of Penn Tap Room on February 23, 2023, to replace windows. At that time, a deposit was made for $9,688. As of February 8, 2024, no work has been completed and attempts to reach Martelli had failed, police reported.

Martelli was arraigned before District Judge Mark Douple who set at $10,000 unsecured. Bail was posted and Martelli was released.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 11 before District Judge Douple.
