Pa. Fugitive Arrested In N.J, Police Say

Vincent Petti was indicted in October on heroin charges, according to a report.

MANCHESTER, NJ -- A Philadelphia man who has been a fugitive from justice was arrested by Manchester Township, N.J. police on Friday.

Vincent M. Petti, 43, was arrested at Pine Lake Park by Patrolman Michael Terranova on a warrant charging him with hindering, according to the Manchester Township police blotter released Monday.

Petti is being held at the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, without bail.

According to an NJ.com report, Petti was arrested in August 2015 by Woodbury police in Salem County on charges of trying to distribute heroin near a school and at that time had five outstanding warrants.

He was charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, according to the NJ.com report, which said it was a large quantity of heroin, but did not specify how much.

Petti was indicted in October on the Woodbury charges, according to NJ.com.

Online records show Petti has been arrested previously; in 2008 he was charged with failure to appear in connection with theft charges lodged against him in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and in 2011 he was charged with driving while intoxicated in Bucks County.
