CHALFONT, PA — The Peace Valley Nature Center is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a new partnership that is blending its milestone with a limited-edition ice cream flavor.

Throughout June, Owowcow Creamery will be scooping up dishes and cones of Sassafras Float exclusively at its Chalfont location in honor of the nature center's anniversary.

Sassafras comes from the native sassafras tree and was the original flavoring used in root beer. The Bucks County-based creamery describes the limited edition flavor as "a sweet treat that offers customers a taste connected to local natural history."
