Penn Color Looking to Expand Internationally

The business owned by the Putman family has plants in the United States, Europe, and India.

Doylestown-based Penn Color, Inc. is looking to expand its business into China, Eastern Europe and South America, reports Plasticsnews.com.

The color concentrate manufacturer employs more than 600 people at six plants in the United States, as well as in facilities and offices in India, the Netherlands, and Asia. The business is headquartered on Old Dublin Pike in Doylestown, and its main facility is in Hatfield.

Penn Color CEO Kevin Putman and his wife Paula are very involved in the Doylestown community. Kevin Putman has served on the board of trustees of the , and in 2007, donated $1.5 million as a challenge grant to fund the museum's recent expansions.

He also is an officer in the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce and this year was vice president of Bucks Fever, which brings area business leaders together to support the arts. Penn Color was a major patron of this year's program.

The Putmans also served on the leadership committee for the capital campaign to raise money to expand the emergency department at .
