TINICUM TOWNSHIP, PA — The bridge that carries Route 32 (River Road) over the Delaware Canal in Tinicum Township reopened to traffic Friday morning following repairs to the damage caused by a vehicular crash on Dec. 13.

PennDOT’s contractor rebuilt the masonry wingwall and constructed a new concrete moment slab and barrier, which extends along the side to provide more protection for the 92-year-old structure. In addition, new guide rail, pavement markings, and signage were installed.
