BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The wait is almost over for local pickleball players. In January, the Picklr will open its first Pennsylvania location inside the former Bed, Bath and Beyond store at the Newtown Shopping Center.
Meanwhile in Doylestown, new owners are taking the helm at the Bagel Barrel which boasts some of the best bagels around. They have pledged to keep the Bagel Barrel's legacy around for the next 32 years and beyond.

The Picklr Opening In Early 2025 In Bucks
It won’t be long before 11 new indoor pickleball courts are ready for action in Bucks County. The Picklr, which is nearing completion at the Newtown Shopping Center next to the Staples store, is set to bring "an unparalleled pickleball experience" to local players when it opens in January. Last week the new Picklr sign was installed at the site of the former Bed, Bath & Beyond store, which is being converted into an indoor state-of-the-art pickleball club. Bagel Barrel Changes Hands In Doylestown
An iconic Doylestown Borough food spot quietly changed hands on Monday. Bucks County natives Steve Cassidy and Nick Muzyczka took over the day-to-day operations of the Bagel Barrel from long-time owner, founder and local bagel-making legend Patrick Murphy, who opened the business 32 years ago on West State Street. Murphy announced in late summer that he had sold the business, but that it would continue operating with the same familiar faces at the helm and the same delicious bagels. Read More.

Duck Donuts Opening 3rd Bucks Co. Shop
Ducks Donuts will open its third Bucks County location at Prickett Preserve in Lower Makefield on Saturday, Dec. 7. The grand opening will be held at 7 a.m. with the first guest in line at the 922 Antique Alley shop receiving a free dozen donuts per month for a year. The next 100 guests will receive a package that includes a dozen donuts, and a latte for a future visit, company officials said. Read More

Main Street Sport and Social Opens In Doylestown
Duckpin Bowling and an indoor mini golf course have joined the lineup at Doylestown’s hottest new indoor entertainment center. The newly rebranded Main Street Sport and Social has opened just in time for the holiday season on the second and third floors of the MainStreet Marketplace (next to the Doylestown Bookshop on South Main Street). Will Wister, the man behind Main Swing Golf, a state-of-the-art four-bay golf simulator that opened a year ago, has now expanded his venue to include a four-lane Duckpin Bowling Alley - a first in Bucks County - and a 9-hole indoor mini golf course. Santa Claus will be coming to the Neshaminy Mall after all. Boscov's is bringing Saint Nick to the mall after its new owners decided not to have Santa Claus hold court in Center Court outside the Barnes & Noble due to little foot traffic.
