Multi-Million Dollar DUI Crackdown Announced in Pa.
Increased sobriety checkpoints, roving patrols and traffic safety patrols are planned during the holidays, police announced Monday.

Law enforcement across Pennsylvania announced Monday they’ll be increasing DUI enforcement through New Year’s Day as part of a multi-million dollar federal campaign.
Increased sobriety checkpoints, roving patrols and regular traffic safety patrols will be used to crack down on motorists who are driving while impaired, authorities announced. The campaign is called “Operation Safe Holiday.”
PennDOT, the Pennsylvania DUI Association, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, AAA Mid-Atlantic and state and local police announced the campaign during a press conference in Delaware County Monday.

As part of the campaign, Pennsylvania State Police and hundreds of municipal police departments statewide will partner with PennDOT to enforce the crackdown.
The campaign is funded partly by PennDOT’s statewide distribution of $4.6 million in federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
