Police ID Body Found On Bucks Co. High School Campus

The Bucks County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the individual found Wednesday night on the Doylestown high school campus.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A body found Wednesday night on the campus of Central Bucks High School West has been identified.

Shawn Kirby, 34, was found dead in the area of Pettine Field on the high school campus. The Bucks County Coroner's office said they suspect Kirby may have been homeless.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday morning, according to Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi, with the cause and manner of death still pending as of Thursday evening.

Just before 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police were dispatched to Memorial Drive near the field for the report of a body. The area borders Doylestown Township and Doylestown Borough.

Central Bucks School District officials confirmed in a letter sent to parents that police were called to the scene to investigate.

“According to police, this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to students, staff, or the campus,” wrote Central Bucks West Principal Lyndell Davis and Interim Superintendent Dr. Charles Malone in the email. “Police are currently handling the situation, and the area is secure.”

No other details were immediately available.
