PHOTOS: 'Protect Mueller' Protest Held In Doylestown

A protest to protect Robert Mueller was held Thursday in Doylestown, as well as outside of Rep. Fitzpatrick's office in Langhorne.

Protestors advocating for the protection of Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller in the wake of Attorney General Jeff Sessions' departure held two events Thursday in Bucks County.

The Doylestown protest was held at State and Main streets. There was also a protest in Langhorne outside of Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick's office, located at Routes 413 and 332. Attendees planned to hold signs that would be visible to drivers on the Newtown Bypass.

The following video and photos from the Doylestown event were shared on Twitter:

"This is a peaceful event – but we WILL be heard! Because NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW," the Facebook event page says. The Langhorne event is organized by BuxMont Inclusive and Progressive, and the Doylestown event by Rise Up Doylestown.

The protests come a day after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced he is leaving the administration at the request of President Donald Trump.

Sessions, a Trump ally who threw his weight behind the president in the 2016 election, recused himself in March 2017 from the probe investigating Russian interference in the presidential election and possible collusion by members of the Trump campaign. Sessions' deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, appointed Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller to oversee the probe in May 2017 after Trump fired then-FBI director James Comey.
