Registration Open for Doylestown Summer Programs

Wednesday's weather notwithstanding, warmer weather is indeed on the way, and summer programs already are open for registration.

In Doylestown Borough, parents have to move quickly to secure a spot in the summer arts and crafts and summer outdoor games programs.

Offered through the borough's park and rec department, the programs fill up quickly. Registration opened this week.

The summer Arts and Craft Program returns to Burpee Park Pavilion in July. Spanning more than 25 years, it is the longest running recreational program offered in Doylestown Borough. This year, director Denise Delanoy returns for her 19th year.

The program costs $5 for residents and $15 for non-residents.

Registration will be capped at 60 participants for each of the two daily sessions, borough officials said.

Registration forms, more information, and a schedule are available at Borough Hall or on the borough's new website.

The Outdoor Games Program at Burpee Park also returns in July for another fun-filled summer. It starts on July 1 and continues on weekdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. throughout the month of July.

The games program is open to children ages 6 to 12; 6 and 7 year olds must be accompanied by an adult at all times, borough officials said.

The games program costs $20 per child. Registration will be capped at 85 participants.
