Salons By JC Opens First Pennsylvania Location In Warrington Township

The business features 41 different salon suites, each one individually rented to a professional in the business.

WARRINGTON, PA - Salons by JC - an 8500 square foot suite of individually owned salons - continues to settle into its new space at the former site of Easton Buffet at 377 Easton Road in Warrington next to Amazon Fresh.

The business features 41 different salon suites, each one individually rented to a professional in the business, including hairstylists, make-up artists, barbers, estheticians, microbladers, massage therapists, and more.

“This is an opportunity for professionals who are looking to get out on their own and don’t want the overhead or the employees,” said owner Nick Massaro. “So they can open their own business inside one of our suites right here and get their start.”

The suites are designed to fit each individual business, Massaro explained.

“Whether you choose a small suite perfect for one beauty professional or a larger suite that can be shared by you and your friend, the possibilities are endless to see your vision come to life,” Massaro said. “We’re providing the opportunity for someone to open a small business.”

Spaces range from 100 to 160 square feet. “On the larger side you can fit two people in the suite operating at the same time. It can be a situation where they are sharing the cost of the suite.”

Massaro employs a concierge who acts as the public face of the business directing customers to the right suite and providing support to the salon’s individual stylists.

“Our dedicated and full-time concierge greets each visitor with a friendly smile and makes sure your every need is met. This concierge service is what makes Salons by JC stand out among the rest,” he said.

Before opening Salons by JC this past fall, Massaro worked as a project manager for 23 years in the corporate world at a fairly large insurance company.

“I didn’t want to do that kind of work anymore,” Massaro said. “I started looking for other opportunities and I got in touch with a franchise coach who helped me find a franchise I was interested in. And I didn’t even know what a salon suite was. They pitched me this idea and the more Italked about it with my wife the more we liked it.”

Massaro and his wife decided to move forward with the idea in April 2021. “From there it took about a year and a half to find a property, do the negotiating and the construction,” he said. “It was a long process.

“The place turned out great. We like everything,” Massaro said. “It’s designed and built to have the look of a higher end salon. It’s very nice inside. Everything is brand new.”

Why Warrington?

“We live in Chalfont so we basically looked in this area for the right place,” Massaro said. “We narrowed it down to three or four locations that would work. This location checked all the boxes and it was the best location in terms of cost in the area.”

While Massaro doesn’t cut hair - he lets that to the professionals - he supports his beauty professionals through social media postings and in other ways.

Salons by JC started in Texas in the late 1990s and today boasts more than 130 locations across the nation.

“The concept has been around for a while, but it’s relatively new to Pennsylvania. In fact we are the first Salons by JC in Pennsylvania.

“These types of businesses weren’t allowed in Pennsylvania until about five years ago,” Massaro explained. “So many in Pennsylvania still aren’t familiar with the concept.

“We get a lot of people stopping by thinking we’re just one big salon,” Massaro said. “There’s still a learning curve as well as getting our name out there because we are so new and people aren’t familiar with the brand and what we are.”
