School Board, Union Approve New Teacher Contract

The school board approved the agreement Tuesday. The Central Bucks Education Association approved the agreement during a vote Monday.

The Central Bucks School Board and the Central Bucks Education Association have both ratified a new contract between the district and its teachers.

The tentative agreement, which district officials called “fair and affordable,” is a four-year contract that includes teacher salary increases with a maximum annual average of 2.81 percent, or 11.25 percent over four years.

Additionally, under the agreement, there will be increased teacher contributions toward medical and prescription costs resulting in $1.3 million in health care savings, district officials said.

Approximately 75 percent of the Central Bucks Education Association membership voted for the new contract, union officials told The Intelligencer.
